In potentially one of the most wild road incidents you’ll ever see, a San Antonio woman was driving along an access road when someone standing by the side of the road threw a spear at her windshield. Yes, an honest to god spear, like they were an Ancient Greek soldier or violent Olympic athlete.
@420juicy This was while i was driving on an access road. This was NOT anyone I know nor was it road rage. Some literally launched this at my car from the side of the road. #almostdied #spear #san antonio #texas #sapd ♬ original sound - Juicyjuice
In the video Shavone Canales posted earlier this week, you can see that the spear hit the steering wheel after piercing her windshield on the passenger side, narrowly missing her in the driver’s seat. Fortunately, Canales is okay, although the same cannot be said for her windshield, which, as we’ve established, has a spear through it.
Literally, nobody is remotely capable of understanding what happened. Or as one commenter wrote, “Ok, she said spear, I hear spear. She showed us the spear, I saw the spear. My brain still asked, ‘Is that a fkn spear!?’”
@420juicy Spear through my windshield. Csi pulling it out. Completely random attack. Not road rage nor do I know who did this. This was someone standing on the side of the access road #almostdied #spear #texas #texas #sanantonio ♬ original sound - Juicyjuice
Canales posted another video of CSI removing the spear from her windshield, highlighting just how long the spear is and just how lethal the tip looks. In the caption, she clarifies that the spear wasn’t thrown in a road-rage incident and she does not know who threw it. For their part, San Antonio Police are investigating, but they have no suspects at this time.
Speaking to local ABC affiliate KSAT, Canales said, “It was a pretty scary event. I was not expecting that,” adding, “I’m just thankful to be alive because, I mean, I have kids.” She will have to pay approximately $400 to fix her windshield.
But again, that’s a small price to pay to have been spared the spear.
