You know those things that seem so surreal you find yourself doubting what’s right in front of you? That’s undoubtedly how the people in this video felt when they saw a dog driving a jet ski as its owner rode a hydroboard out in front.

At first, we only see the human, standing on a hydroboard and navigating over the waves; so far, nothing too bizarre. Then the camera pans to the jet ski, which we quickly realize is being operated by a labrador who looks happy, albeit a little confused or overwhelmed, about the situation he’s found himself in.

Commenters were impressed, with one person joking, “If I won the lottery, I wouldn’t tell anyone, but there would be signs,” and another asking, “How many GTA missions do I have to do for me to unlock this?”

Perhaps what’s most unusual about this is that this isn’t the first dog to operate a jet ski. Last August, a dog named Ollie the Do Good Dog, jet skied down the Ohio River in order to raise money and awareness for dogs in shelters.

Stranger still is Twiggy the Water-Skiing Squirrel, a dynasty of squirrels who have been trained to water ski whose line dates back to 1979. Twiggy tours the United States performing at boat shows, county fairs and malls, and is living proof that squirrels really can do anything they put their minds to.

But back to the jet-skiing dog — for anyone genuinely concerned or confused, a couple of party poopers in the comments explained that jet skis are steerless when hooked up and that the owner on the hoverboard is actually pulling the dog and jet ski behind him.

Boring. I’m going to pretend I didn’t read that and continue to believe that dogs can operate personal watercraft for my own amusement.
