They should really put a steering wheel on those things. These people were competing in a sled race when one sled pulled ahead of the others. This is a win/lose scenario: a win because you beat the others in the race, but a loss because you get firsthand experience seeing just how bad natural brakes can be.

Rather than be halted by the hay bales at the bottom of the hill, the gang slides right through them — and plows directly into the ice wall behind them. That’s gotta hurt.
