Stephanie Matto, who you may know as the woman who sold her farts in jars (or perhaps from reality television), has revealed the identity of the Republican senator she’s been secretly dating.
@stephaniematto Finally exposing the US senator i was dating this past year and all of his secrets! #datingstory #storytime #scandal #spillingthetea ♬ original sound - Stephaniematto
Matto, who has appeared on shows like 90 Day Fiancé, opened her TikTok confession with, “I have dated a U.S. senator for the past year and kept it a huge secret… up until today.” She explained that the senator has, on occasion, sent her funds in exchange for virtual dates or so he can watch her eat, but after seeing him on the news supporting something that “I, as a woman, just simply cannot stand by,” she felt compelled to speak out.
She also shared that they’ve even discussed his views before; with Matto asking him if he agrees with all of his party’s positions, to which he responded that he doesn’t actually care about politics or people, he only cares about money and the power being a senator gives him. Matto explained that she has considered revealing his identity before now, but the senator has threatened to have one of her family members deported. Him recently unfollowing her on all of her social media accounts appeared to be the straw that broke the camel’s back, leading her to make this video.
It’s Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt. He’s a Republican. pic.twitter.com/JEV1c5u55R

Unfortunately, she doesn’t actually name the senator in her video — plausible deniability or clickbait? Who can say. She did share a couple of identifying details about his burner Instagram account, however, and one Twitter user thinks they’ve solved the case: Eric Schmitt from Missouri.
Schmitt has served as the junior senator from Missouri since last year and was previously Missouri Attorney General from 2019 to 2023. While we don’t know for sure that it’s him, he does have pretty reprehensible views: as AG, he filed lawsuits to invalidate the Affordable Care Act and prevent St. Louis County from implementing public health restrictions during the worst of the pandemic. He also tried to argue that the Civil Rights Act doesn’t protect LGBTQ+ people from employment discrimination and banned abortion in Missouri following the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
In other words, his politics stink so much that all the fart jars in the world can’t make them (or him) smell any worse. Either way, the whole thing is kinda lame. Where’s the genuinely juicy shit?
