Thankfully, most of us will never have to use a bear trap for, well, catching bears. Instead, the bear trap exists in most people’s imaginations as either 1) a torture device from the Saw movies, or 2) something that people in cartoons step on and go “YEEOUCH!”

Nowadays, most people don’t even use bear traps — but that doesn’t mean that they’ve disappeared completely. Instead of catching bears with them, the modern bear trap owner instead just does shit like this:
