America has an obsession with big stuff.

It’s a massive country, with massive problems, massive buildings, and massive people. Everything Americans do is loud and proud, and the roadside attractions and statues are no exception.

Middle America is dotted with some strange, hilarious, gigantic attractions. It seems that these people in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but wide-open space and time on their hands decided they needed something to bring people to their town. Instead of investing in the town to make it appealing, a lot of folks decided, “We’re going to make one giant, useless thing.” 

As a result, there are many of “The World’s Largest” things stoically guarding the nation. The world’s largest potato, garden gnome, cow, penny, etc.

If you can think of it, odds are someone in the Midwest made it real and gargantuan.
