Influencers are a strange brand of celebrity. They’re not really known for acting or making art or anything at all – they just kind of… are famous for being them, with usually no genuine skill attached. This makes them uniquely set up to make huge, hilarious mistakes and embroil themselves in scandal.

Logan Paul and MrBeast sold a bunch of moldy, poisonous cheese. One guy drove himself to insanity in solitary confinement for views. The Hawk Tuah girl, the one who will never leave our feeds, scammed a bunch of crypto heads and she may even be going to jail for it. OnlyFans girls are also ripe fodder for scandals – except they're not the ones getting in trouble. It's just the gooners who gooned their way into bankruptcy.

This year was a bit of a golden one if you like seeing influencers drop their pants, metaphorically, of course.
