Americans Are Worried That China Is Winning the Burger War
They can beat us with technology, but we can’t let them beat us with burgers!
Over the years, the average American burger has gotten bigger and bigger. This is both good and bad — good because, I mean, who doesn’t love a bigger burger, but bad because, for some ungodly reason, we’ve collectively decided to increase the burger *vertically* rather than horizontally. This results in burgers that look great in photos, but barely fit into your mouth and collapse into a mound of bread, beef and sauce after just a few bites.
Recently, Americans have been downloading the Chinese app RedNote and experiencing a small taste of Chinese culture. This includes videos of Chinese chefs preparing burgers — and, to hear American RedNote users tell it, they look better than the burgers we’ve got over here.
What the hell is happening?!

China made burgers wider instead of taller. It's over https://t.co/dDaY5v0A9G

The symbolism of this is bigger than we all realize. Americans are losing to China in almost every single way. You lose the burger war, you lose the real war before a single shot is fired. https://t.co/k7SqoIWENH
