Chinese Social Media Users Are Pretending to Be A.I. and It’s Brilliant
It’s hard to explain the surreality of A.I. video. Much like how every A.I.-generated image has an odd sort of sheen to it, A.I. video’s understanding of physics, movement and how people interact with each other creates a dream-like state in which all things are possible — in which people grow limbs and fingers in the blink of an eye, only to have them vanish or morph into something else entirely.
This bizarre understanding of our existence has been a meme for some time, but now, social media users over in China are taking it to the next level by recreating these A.I. scenarios in real life. The result is delightfully strange — and we didn’t even need to melt a million glaciers to make it!
