Dubstep is a genre that went from legitimate to meme at record speed. While its origins may have been the dark, moody spaces created during the U.K.’s late ‘90s club scene, its transition to the U.S. brought with it belching bass wobbles, far too many strobe lights, and of course, a helluva lot of (depending on who you talk to, justified) haters.

While the heyday of dubstep may be behind us, there are still some people keeping the flame alive. Some of those people can be seen here doing “dubstep karaoke,” where they try to “sing” along to their favorite dubstep tracks by doing all the diarrhea sounds with their mouths.

They’re having fun, but man does it not really work at all.
