Is it just me, or are criminals getting stupider?

There’s always been an unjustified mystique around crime. While we love to think that every major robbery was performed with the ease and elegance of Ocean’s Eleven, in reality, most large-scale crimes are committed by the type of idiot willing to risk a dozen years in prison for a new Honda Civic.

That said, it *does* feel like the average criminal has gotten substantially dumber. Take, for example, this video, where thieves break into a dealership, crawl (?) through the building, then leave with a single key that, it turns out, they can’t really use.

Oh yeah, while they had their faces covered, one of them took off their mask to vape, which may lead to them getting caught.

What a stupid world.
