Hey, free fish!

Eating as much meat and fish as we do requires processing the animals at an industrial scale. While we all understand this at some level, it can be pretty jarring to see it in action — especially when we see the systems we’ve put in place to make all this easier go haywire.

In the situation below, an Alaskan salmon processing plant had a little bit of trouble managing the amount of fish that came down its chute. Did I say “a little bit of trouble”? I meant “a hell of a lot of trouble,” as this problem caused a massive pileup that filled the floor waist-height with fish.
