The cause of the explosion is not yet known.

As we’ve previously discussed, transporting any explosive material comes with a certain amount of danger. While systems are typically in place to prevent the worst from happening, every once in a while, something goes wrong and the thing goes kaboom.

That appears to be what happened in Konakovo, Russia, where the explosion of a gas tank caused the death of the tanker’s driver and damage to nearby cars and buildings.
