Green Chemical Fires Spotted Belching Out of Texas Manholes
They’re making the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles down there!
There’s a lot of talk about protecting the environment and how doing so will ensure the long-term success of our planet. However, there are also a lot of people who love buying cheap, plastic shit and pouring drain cleaner straight down the sewer. These two ideas, as you might be able to tell, are in conflict.
What this means for us in the present is that, every once in a while, we’ll get some bizarre, nearly-unexplainable ecological incident that will cause us to go, “What the fuck?” and then carry on with our everyday lives. In the most recent case, it’s these green fires, which were spotted popping out of sewers on the Texas Tech campus.
We still have no idea why they happened, but people theorize it has something to do with a chemical reaction involving copper.
