Knowing how expensive our healthcare system is, one would hope that it’s among the best in the world. In reality, that’s far from the truth. According to the Legatum Institute, a London-based think tank, our healthcare system comes in 69th place, right between Armenia and Algeria — and that’s while our healthcare spending per capita is around double the average of other wealthy countries!
Seeing this, it’s nice to tell yourself that it can’t *all* be bad. Unfortunately, it’s not true — it really is all bad, and as this woman explains in her recounting of her work in the health insurance industry, it may be worse than you thought.
