Popeyes Worker Trashes Store After Not Getting Paid For an Entire Month
What would you do if you didn't get paid for an entire month? This Popeyes employee decided to take the destructive path and trash the inside of his fast food joint. Throwing everything from chicken to sauces on the floor, he made sure that if he wasn't getting paid, the restaurant wasn't making any money either.
Originally posted by the TikTok channel itsrah26, the video was then shared by the Twitter page More Perfect Union, where it has amassed 3.4 million views. "The true cost of wage theft by employers is over $50 billion every year," they wrote in their caption.
Despite the destructive behavior, viewers firmly sided with the employee. "How does someone not get paid once, let alone 4 weeks straight? Isn't that called slavery?" one person asked. "What do you do if you don't get paid for a week?" another person answered. "Not show up? You're fired. Complain? To who? Get a lawyer? With what money? Yeah, it's slavery." Other viewers were worried about the employee. "I get it, I absolutely do," one person said, "but they're gonna charge this guy with destruction of property and those assholes will make sure every chicken leg is in there." Here's to hoping Popeyes can crack down on wage theft in the future. They probably still used that chicken anyway.
