Retaining Wall Breaks, Destroys a Parking Lot of Cars
If you build a retaining wall, it’s probably because you’re trying to retain something. Duh, it’s right there in the name!
The problem comes when you don’t put proper drainage into such a structure. With nowhere for water to go, it builds up behind the wall, adding mass to a structure that’s already under considerable pressure.
Typically, a wall like this can still hold with additional pressure, at least for a little bit. However, sometimes, the pressure gets to be too much, which can lead to incidents like this one, in which a parking lot of cars were crushed by a retaining wall in Russia.
No one was hurt, but it looks like the Lada dealership is going to get some new customers!
