It really feels like the era of the gooner is already behind us. While people have gooned for decades, discussion of the topic has faded into the background, with subreddits like r/gooncaves getting banned and the most prominent news stories regarding gooning involving North Korean soldiers.

A company that didn’t get that message is TCL, creators of that TV you got off Amazon by sorting from “Price Low to High.” In a recent ad for the U.K. market, they claimed that their televisions were perfect for gooning. Hell, they say you can even goon with grandma!

While this is likely referring to the British football fans who call themselves “gooners,” given how much other internet jargon they forced into the ad, I’m going to go ahead and say they knew what they were doing.
