Wealth can’t buy taste — or, apparently, a competent interior designer.
If you get rich and decide to build your own house, you have one of two options. First, you can get a new, fancy architect to design your home, resulting in a house that’s inevitably a) all white; b) so “openly-planned” that it can develop its own weather system; and c) feels like you’re living in a hotel.
Alternatively, you could do the thing where you’re new money, but pretend you have old money. This results in an incredible contrast of colors, patterns and “exquisite” design that gives anyone looking at it for more than a few seconds a massive headache.
Unsurprisingly, many rich people opt for the latter. Here’s what that looks like:
