Track Runner Says Another Contestant Tried to Beat Her With the Baton

Instead of beating her opponent, she beat her opponent.

There’s a considerable amount of debate about what constitutes bad sportsmanship. That said, I think “hitting your opponent with a baton” is a pretty clear-cut case.

Brookville High School junior Kaelen Tucker was running in a 4x200 meter relay race at the VHSL Class 3 State Indoor Championships at Liberty University on Friday when another competitor ran up behind her and started beating her with a baton.

As a result, the sprinter suffered a concussion and is currently being looked at for potential skull fractures. The person who did it was disqualified, but allegedly didn’t apologize to Tucker.

The incident is currently being investigated, but you can watch the moment happen below.
